zienzele is committed to offering the opportunity of a secondary education to every zienzele student that wants one.
our Secondary Education Program covers:
fees: entrance exams, annual school fees
supplies: uniforms, books, materials like notebooks and pencils
$250: annual Sponsorship
of one secondary student’s tuition, exam fees, books, and supplies
ZIENZELE WEEKEND: PLANNING WHAT COMES NEXT, TOGETHER
All our Zienzele Secondary students are invited to a special weekend at the Zienzele house in Masvingo, where they get to know each other and our Zienzele Post-Secondary All-Stars (for most of these secondary students, this is their first trip to Masvingo, the local ‘city’). Our All-Stars lead workshops and informal conversations all weekend —about handling the challenges of secondary school, about the practical side of continuing on to a post-secondary education (university exams and applications, options for professional degrees as well as apprenticeships and trade certificates), about setting and pursuing goals, about the importance of coming up with plans B and C, and about their personal journeys as Zienzele kids themselves. The mentorships and friendships our students form during these weekends make a HUGE difference for our secondary students, whether or not they decide to continue on to a post-secondary degree.
